To avoid last year's dynamic process which gave us a true talk</para><para> marathon on the very last day of WBMv3 all talks / workshops / panel</para><para> discussions shall be announced beforehand. </para><para>Tracks</para><para> ==== </para><para>In order to broaden the horizon of the event we are going to split the event</para><para> into different tracks: </para><para>* The technical track is taking place throughout the week (monday till friday)</para><para> which mainly focuses on rather technical topics like: </para><itemizedlist><listitem override="none"><para>=&gt; routing protocol internals</para><para> =&gt; implementations / development of &quot;cool&quot; algorithms</para><para> =&gt; hands-on routing / multicast / roaming / convergence speed / etc</para><para> =&gt; secuity aspects in mesh networks</para><para> =&gt; your idea here</para></listitem></itemizedlist><para>* The weekend (saturday &amp; sunday) is reserved for the applications track which</para><para> aims to showcase applications that run on top of the mesh. It is not important</para><para> whether protocol X or Y is deployed and how it is implemented, the question</para><para> is: What can we do with the mesh once it is there ?</para><itemizedlist><listitem override="none"><para>=&gt; VoIP in the mesh ?</para><para> =&gt; fast desaster recovery ?</para><para> =&gt; artistic projects ?</para><para> =&gt; your idea here</para></listitem></itemizedlist><para>The idea of these tracks is to provide a ground for the different developers /</para><para> projects to exchange ideas on technical aspects of algorithms /</para><para> implementations / optimizations as well as organizing an exchange with mesh</para><para> network users who care less about how the mesh itself works as long as their</para><para> application can do its job. On the other hand the weekend serves as an entry</para><para> point for people to learn about what you can actually do with mesh networks. </para><para>Submission</para><para> ======= </para><para>To allow an efficient handling of your submission, please provide the following</para><para> information and send them to me directly in form of an email:</para><para>* your name</para><para> * the track you are interested in</para><para> * the type of your slot (talk/workshop/panel discussion)</para><para> * your topic headline</para><para> * your topic description which can brief (does not need to exceed a couple of</para><para> lines) but should provide a reasonable summary of your talk</para><para> * the dates of your stay at the event + (optional) preferred day for your slot</para><para> * length of the slot if you wish to do a workshop (all other slots will be</para><para> limited to one hour - notify me in advance if you think that is not enough for</para><para> you) </para><para>Deadlines</para><para> ====== </para><para>Submissions are accepted until and including the 28th of February. Everyone</para><para> missing this deadline still has the opportunity to apply for a lightening talk</para><para> slot. These slots can be acquired by simply contacting me during the event.</para><para> The list of registered lightening talks will be published in the battlemesh wiki.</para><para> The final program will be made available in the aforementioned wiki during the</para><para> first week of March.</para><para>If you have any question or suggestion, please let me know.</para><para>Regards,</para><para> Marek </para></article>
