== About Battlemesh ==

The Wireless Battle of the Mesh is yearly recurring event that aims at bringing together
people involved with wireless mesh networks from across the world to test the performance
of different routing protocols for ad-hoc networks, like Babel, B.A.T.M.A.N., BMX, OLSR,
802.11s and Static Routing. The location changes every year, and this years 8th edition
will take place in Maribor, Slovenia from Aug 3rd to Aug 9th 2015. We expect approx. 60 to
100 wireless hackers, mesh developers (802.11s, Babel, B.A.T.M.A.N., BMX, OLSR, Babel, ...),
OpenWRT developers, WISP and WiFi community people, students, academics, WISP people and enthusiasts
from all over the world. It is a tournament with a social character, we will set up a mesh
of 50+ devices to run and compare different wireless mesh protocols. There will also be talks
and workshops scheduled to synchronize the proceedings in development in the various communities.

== Looking for Sponsorship ==

The Wireless Battle of the Mesh is an event solely organized by mesh community people. Since
we would like to keep the event affordable event for students, we are looking for sponsorships
by local companies, institutions, and international companies involved in mesh and wifi networks.

We would like to use money funded by sponsor for:

 * partly pay accomodation and food for participants - we aim to offer a hotel and accomodation package
   at ~100 EUR per participant for the whole week
 * offer travel scholarships for non-EU participants if they can't make it otherwise
 * venue and organization costs (cleaning, transport, rent, ...)

We would like to use hardware sponsorship sponsor for:
 * setting up a more extensive test network at the event
 * enabling the companies to introduce their devices to the wireless communities and developers
 * involve engineers and companies with OpenWRT and other open-source efforts in wireless networking

We also offer sponsors to get involved and get visible, e.g.:

 * send staff people to come and visit, give talks, etc
 * put flyers/posters at the venue
 * sponsors will be mentioned on our website, the talks and posters

Please note that we will have a few limitations:

 * we won't accept sponsorships from companies focused on military customers and political parties
 * we will not allow influence of sponsors into any organization decisions of the event

== Financial handling ==

The open source non-profit organization [[http://irnas.eu/about.html|Institute IRNAS Race]] will be the legal entity behind the organization
of this years Wireless Battlemesh. The preferred way is to establish a Memorandum of Understanding
on basis of which the donation is made, but depending on your companies/institution requirements
they are flexible to sort out the paperwork.
