BattleMeshV6
We would like to give to the 'Battle of the Mesh' the flavor of a tournament with a social character. If you are a mesh networking enthusiast, community networking activist, or have an interest in mesh networks you might find this bunch of crazy folks gathering for the Wireless Battle of the Mesh V6 very interesting. This event is also an opportunity to meet developers from the most popular open source mesh protocol implementations (Babel, B.A.T.M.A.N. L3 and L2, BMX, IEEE 802.11s, OLSR) and watch their ideas compete. If you have implemented an interesting mesh protocol capable of running on OpenWrt Attitude Adjustment you can take part in the tournament too.

The BattleMeshV6 will be held at Aalborg, Denmark. The testing / hacking / talks will take place in the Aalborg University. Two larger rooms have been booked for the BattleMesh participants. Expect to find an internet connection, plenty of space, video projector, canteen, and some curious students.
Some first impressions (Aalborg, University site, pumpkins):

A low cost package for accommodation and food supply is available for participants. For this, we have made a block reservation at Hotel Aalborg. Transportation between hotel and university is by bus, for which you will get full-day passes for the entire week. Breakfeast and dinner is also included in the package and will be served at the university. Lunch can be bought the the university canteen.
If you have special needs for accommodation or food, we are happy to help - please contact Martin.

What
In brief: We will deploy a wireless mesh network over the campus, run different routing protocols on top of it, perform some tests and see which routing protocol behaves better. (More Infos about the firmware: BattleMeshV6/Firmware)

Participant Registration and Fee
The event itself is free of charge and open for all, so to register without hotel and food supply, simply add your name to the BattleMeshV6 participants list.
Living costs in Denmark are high and in order to provide an option for a low cost accomodation and low cost food supply, several special group bookings have been arranged. Payment in advance is required to get the full benefit of the discount. Therefore, this year's edition features an "early bird low cost" registration program, including:
Accommodation at Hotel Aalborg for the entire week.
- Breakfeast and dinner the entire week.
- Public transportation in Aalborg the entire week.
The package is available for 1500 DKK (~201€) if the payment is made before February 15th, 2013. The price goes up to 1900 DKK (255€) for all payments made after February 15th. These late arrangements are subject to availability. Of course, this package is not compulsory. You can also find your own bed and food supply yourself during the event if you wish to do so. To register, please follow this link:

We prefer online payments, but if you are unable to pay by credit card, you can contact Martin to get instructions for bank transfers. Group payments is unfortunately not supported by the payment system, so groups have to perform one payment per participant.
Once your payment is received and approved, your name will be listed on the BattleMeshV6 participants list.
